Are southpaw boxers still discriminated against today in boxing?

before i know it was really hard for a southpaw to get in boxing because no one wanted to fight a southpaw. Is that still as true today?

  1. Not nearly as much.  There are much more southpaw titleholders today then there was in the past.  Back in the day, a lot of naturally left handed guys were converted to orthodox so that they could get fights, but now some right-handed guys choose to fight southpaw because they feel it gives them an advantage to have their strong hand closest to their opponent.  Chad Dawson, Manny Pacquiao, Winky Wright, are all guys that fight southpaw but are really right handed.  There are always going to be more orthodox champions out there because there are more right handed people in the world, but over the past few decades, there has been more tolerance for southpaw boxers, and as a result, they have been given more opportunity to shine and use their advantage, which is why there are more southpaw titleholders today, then there was previously.
