  1. I have had both and have not seen any difference in their temperament.

  2. our female guinea-pigs were very docile but i think that was just how they were handled i have two male guinea-pigs they seem to be a little cheekier but they are quite chilled to

  3. Dear Guinea Pig Docile Inquirer,

My experience is that sows ARE more docile than boar guinea pigs. I've had both, in case you were wondering. I like sows better, they're more tame, as well as friendlier!

    Yup,

P.S - It appears as if you're one of my contacts!.. cheers.

  4. Well, actually I think male guinea-pigs are much more friendlier and social, from my experience. My family has had quite a few guinea-pigs over the years and they have always been males because the females were always used for breeding. At the moment we have 4. Two which are mine and our just 3 years old and 2 others that are sort of the family's and they are not even one yet. Mine are very kind, clever and social. They have never bitten me, unlike females and they get along with each other much better. I know this because it is an actual fact, and because we sometimes have to look after my friends female guinea-pigs and whenever we take them out we see a big difference in their personality. Also the females tend to be more bitchy! and annoy each other whereas my two get along fine.

    Hope I could help!
