Are soy sauce and malic acid vegan?

I'm wanting to eat some pickled strip cucumbers from a Chinese/asian grocery store and I want to know if they are vegan.

I don't know about Malic acid, But fermented Soy (true soy) is Vegan

Both soy sauce (comes from soy beans) and malic acid ( comes from unripe fruits) are vegan.
