i wouldnt be surprised if they DO get more plaque, etc. than the other kind, but considering most commercials are so incredibly full of bogus, i thought id ask here to anyone using one, if theyre really worth it.

  1. I use my spin brush at bedtime, and yes, it does work better.  During the day, I use a plain old-fashion brush several times.

My spin brush was 3 bucks with a coupon.  My plain old-fashion one was 8 bucks.  I don't like the vibration feel, so I wouldn't use the spin as often as I brush my teeth.

  2. It depends how you use either of them.  I do think "spin brushes" do the job as well as a manual brush in less time and are less "technique sensitive" which is why I recommend electric toothbrushes to my patients.  I think all the brushes in the Oral B line (from the lower costing ones to the Triumph) do a good job.
