  1. they are

do you remmember the match between justine and bartoli in wta championship, a commentator insulted bartoli so much by saying her playing style is very funny, she looks like cartoon when she jumps and so on

  2. Commentators are there to commentate and not to judge. They may give their opinions but should not offend anyone.

  3. If you're hyper sensitive, like most little kids are about their favorite players, then you'll take anything remotely negative as being rude. You didn't give any details of what you're talking about.

  4. Why not? Only the remarks should be related to game & not individual

  5. i think they shouldnt! but this was not the case in djokovic vs robredo. the commentators particular one of the two, made some unfair and sarcastic remarks against djokovic... eg faking his injury, when playback showed that he clearly twisted his ankle! and also at the point when djokovic corrected linesman and gave a point to robredo, he said djokovic was just trying to win over the crowd. clearly he has something against djokovic, and i feel so unfair and he is so unprofessional!

  6. It all depends on the circumstances of the match, and the network covering the event and employing the commentators. I'd rather commentators keep their rude opinions to themselves, and just focus on the tennis, just because that is the professional thing to do.

Commentators can say what they want, but if it's out of line with the TV network they will probably be sacked, or in some way punished. For example, Justin Gimelstob, a former ATP player, was commentating at an event, and made some very sexist remarks, and was let go from his duties. So in that case, commentators can NOT make rude remarks about players.

By the way, he said this about Anna Kournikova:

"I just despise her to the maximum level, right below hate. I think she falls into the Marcelo Rios scumbag category." and "If she's not crying by the time she walks off that court, then I did not do my job."

He also called Tatiana Golovin and Alize Cornet "sexpots" and Nicole Vaidisova a "well-developed young lady."

  7. of course not, even if there are sports commentators they must have respect to the players whether the players did wrong things while playing, they must have a sense of sportsmanship and people don't like it if they made rude remark, sometimes what they are saying are straight from their hearts, wouldn't give a d**n what people think, that's what some people are doing nowadays

  8. no
