Question:

Are spyders good paintball guns?

people like scamp say not to get one. Why shouldn't i buy a spyder?

  1. Spyders are not the greatest when it comes to reliability but they are decent starter guns and they do work a bit better that a basic tippmann when used for speedball because they are shorter, narrower, and a bit lighter.

    They typically don't last too long though and don't have much in upgrades.

    I have spyders and I will tell you that I'm always performing some kind of repairs on them where as with my tippmann, I've only replaced 3 parts in 7 years with over 500,000 shots.


  2. Never had a problem with my spyders but it's been a while since i've owned any and none of them were the ones currently available.

    They're ok guns but now that Smart Parts & Proto have released electros at lower price ranges, the prices of spyders are slowly becoming less & less reasonable.  For instance (and this is just my opinion), an Ion XE offers more in terms of features & method of operation than similar-priced spyders. Same goes for the Proto SLG.  More bang for the buck.
