  1. Anyone impartial (and that's not how the Asker comes across) will see that there is a place for State Airlines. They frequently fly to less profitable destinations which are subsidised by their higher prices on mainline routes.

    Air Travel is not as simple as the Asker presents it; it's not Good Guys versus Bad Guys.  State Airlines and/or independents provide different types of service, to different destinations.

    No State Airlines are not dead, and if everyone was in the hands of the Independents, travel would be a lot more problematical.
