Question:

Are steering wheel covers safe?

Hi :)

I passed my test in December and I'm thinking of getting a fabric steering wheel cover. I'm just a bit concerned about it slipping on the steering wheel and being unsafe. Do any of you have one so you can reassure me? :)

Thanks!

  1. You have to consider size. They come in different sizes and if it's too big it will slip off and you don't want that. In addition you have to consider the material...some prefer warm leatherette to grab onto, others like the fur kind...it all depends on your preference. Size matters... get the right size and you'll be happy.

  2. If they werent safe they wouldnt make them! most of the time they are made to inhance your drinving and steering!!! so yes they are safe!

  3. normally they fit tight on the wheel,  but you should be using enough pressure when holding the wheel to keep it in place.  If you are unsure you should get one put it on and when parked try to turn the wheel and see what happens, use some muscle if it dose not move it will be fine if it dose then get a different one

  4. They are safe, but u just have to be more cautious if you're worried about it slipping and if your hand is gripped on the wheel right, it won't slip

  5. YES, I have one on all my cars and they will not slip and it wont freeze your hands off in the winter time so ease your mind and get yourself one I think you will enjoy it.....

  6. most steering wheel covers are designed to help improve grip and are perfectly safe
