Are stirrup leggings stupid?

Question

I love leggings, especially in the fall and winter. I wear them with pretty much anything, even under my jeans sometimes if it's cold.

Anyway, I'm 24 and remember stirrup leggings from when I was a kid. Does anyone have a pair? Do you think they're stupid? I want full length leggings, but don't know whether I should get the ones with stirrups or just plain bottom?

Also, I'm tall(ish) about 5'9" so maybe they would be too short?

Ah...I love stirrups! I got some in yellow and some in blue...

They aren't stupid only if you can't see them. Like, wear them with sneakers, or boots. Not heels!!

i have been looking for stirrup leggings forever now and i still can't find a pair i like. i think they're absolutely awesome. i bought those exact same leggings on the macy's website and they don't look like the picture at all. they're shiny and thin and not what what i personally consider stirrups. they don't end at the ankle and then strap under the foot, but rather have a slit that you put your foot through. they ended up looking more like this:
