  1. And bolted to  the top  of the concrete is a piece of wood  called the bottom plate   which begins the framing. Brick  houses are not brick  -  it's brick  siding.  Termites will  consume your dining room furniture if  conditions are good for them.  Wood  equals  food for termites.  


  2. regardless of a stone finish, there is still wood framing under every finished surface. I myself have had termite infestation in a section of my garage a few years ago and I have a brick house. So any wood is fair game for them.  

  3. They eat wood, not stone !
