Will be staying in Rome on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Are stores open on Sunday?

Plan on going to see Vatican too. Should I schedule it for Saturday afternoon or Sunday?

Would there be a mass with Pope?

  1. Yes all stores are open on Sundays, unless it's a national holiday.  The Vatican is always (underline that twice!) busy.  If you are here at the end of the month, the Vatican museum is free of charge on the last Sunday of the month.  The Pope typically has a general audience on Wednesdays... I don't believe Sundays is open to the public.

  2. Yes, in the center of Rome and turistic areas all shops and museums are open

  3. Yes, stores are open on Sunday in Rome. Go to the Spanish Steps, there you will find designers stores. I was there a couple of years ago and loved it. Normally, he has an afternoon mass at the Vatican.

while I think the vatican museums and Cappella Sistina are opened only in the morning and closed on sunday.

  6. Stores & shops in the tourist areas stay open. If the Pope isn't travelling then you can attend the mass outdoors at St. Peter's.

    Please pray for peace.
