My friend and I are having an argument. She says that, for an example, a prince who can't have his favorite meal for dinner experiences the same stress as a regular guy whose wife divorces him. To each, the stress about the same, because stress and pain are relative. Who is right?

  1. I think your friend is right.  Pain and stress are all relative.

  2. hmnn...well when sumone is stressed its because sumthing wrong is happening in their life...and that sumthing is probably gunna cause them pain...i don't think they're related...but i think one leads to the other

  3. yes, they are.

the example might be an exaggeration,

    but you never know.

everyone is unique, with their set of experiences.

they further each perceive and experience in unique ways,

often relative to their past experiences (lifestyles, etc.)

    it's all relative, babyy.

  4. Your friend is right both stress and pain are relative. My example is a splinter, the average youth or man might find the pain of a bad splinter terrible while a woman who has just given birth recently would calmly sit down and dig it out with a pin, because she has felt something so much more painful it seems to hurt less. Just as a pampered adult who has always been taken care of might become stressed to the point of hysterics when they get a flat tire and they rest of us just get out and change our own tire. Relativity.
