Are studies of UK better than Australia?

Question

I have surveyed couple of magazines and found really good universities in Singapore, Japan, America, Australia and UK.

But overall UK studies are better than Australia.

What do your poles think?

UK BABYYY trust me on this one i live in the uk=) they myt be a lil bit more harder but u benefit more from them in the longrun.

It's difficult to say if they are better on the whole - the UK has a two powerhouse universities: Oxford and Cambridge.  If you took them out of the mix, the two countries are very comparable.  ICL is similar to ANU, Edinburgh to Melborne, UCL to Sydney, etc. I think what you should look into is isolating a field of study and then looking at specific metrics for that field.  The ranking are usually 'overall' rankings rather than subject specific.

Unfortunate closing note: Most people rank things on who has 'the single best' rather than as a whole.  Because if this, the UK with Oxbridge has a slight advantage.  Take a look at the below links, some will let you break things down further by subject / field.

I think it all depends on what kind of environment you want to be in. The UK has great universities, and it offers many things to do because of the surrounding cities. If you enjoy more industrialized areas you should go to the UK.

If you like nature and the environment, Australia is the perfect place to visit. You get to see animals and wonders of nature.
