yes they are. When little kids are watching dora they take off their shirts because the subliminal message in the theme says take off your tee.

They are but there have been laws put into place making them illegal in advertising.30 years ago they use to use subliminal advertising in the movie theaters.Subliminal advertising was used excessively in the sixties and seventies.In movie theaters they used to put images of popcorn and sodas in between scenes in the movie that you could never see them.Radio used to do it with voices in the background of the advertisements.Now that you know next time your lover is asleep keep whispering you are in love.
