Are sunshades universal?

im trying to find a sunshade for my cabelas pine ridge tactical riflescope and im not sure about the threads on the sunshades...im wondering if as long as i find a sunshade thats 40mm if it will fit on my scope.

It's usually best to purchase add on equipment from the original manufacture, that way you know it fits.

Actually they do come in different threads, sorry.... If you can not find the proper one from Cabelas call Leupold. Their customer service is excellent even though the scope is not theirs. They have helped me with a Zeiss scope in the past.

The sunshades I have looked at are identified only as 40mm

I can only assume that they are universal
