Are surf-suits for kids pointless, or a good purchase?

My friend recommended that i should buy my two, surf suits. Are they that convienient?

I know that, GUL make is the best for surfwear, im not afraid to part with my money.. as long as they are guarenteed to be used!

If you mean wetsuits then. I have been surfing my whole life, and if you are going in the water when it is cold they would benefit from them because they will keep them a little warmer than they would be. If you just plan on being in the water for summer then a wetsuit is not that practical.

They help to keep the sun off your back, one bad sunburn makes any price worth it. It doesn't hurt that they can look kinda cool too.

Well, they're a great purchase if you have kids that surf, or swim, all through the year. Otherwise pointless, I suspect.

Pointless.  They are just going to grow out of them in a year anyway.  I'm not sure where you live but in SC, the water is nice enough that you don't need a wetsuit from April to October.  Unless your kids are big time surfers (or whatever other water sport you are referring to), it is probably not worth it to buy them wet suits for the winter.  Just wait till spring or until they get a little older where they aren't growing as much.
