Are syrian hamsters colourblind + can they eat tomatoes?

i think the title explains it all really.

but,

i recently adopted a syrian hamster called smudge and she has one red and one black eye, i was wondering if this makes her colourblind? or are all hamsters are colourblind anyway cause ive never known?

and secondly, can hamsters eat tomato?, ive read in books that they are not meant to eat it because it messes with their tummys but my other hamsters adored it, so im wondering if smudge can eat it or if its forbidden for syrians?
