This is my tattoo, the only one I have well for now. If I do get another one it will be behind my ear, but anyway, I want to be a kindergarten teacher and im getting ready to graduate college, but do you think parents would have a problem with it?

  1. I have kids 10 3 and 4.

I dont have a problem. I think long as its not on your face or adult in nature its fine. There are things more important like how your teaching skills are. I would hope my kids can see a tatt and know its just what your choice is.......

    I have an idea

Repost this same Q in a defferent section.

like PARENTING .... trust me try it....... I will answer again.lolz

  2. Never ever have a tat

  3. You should definitely try to cover it up as much as possible, just in case. Parents have lots of stereotypes when it comes to people that have tattoos. They probably won't like a teacher with a tattoo teaching their children. Plus, you should try to keep it as professional as possible.

  4. As long as you keep them covered up. Tattoos can really be intimidating to some children.(Especially kids so young)They used to scare me when I was a kid .

  5. That looks pretty nice.

It says love, not hate. So for kindergardeners it's fine. It's not like you're influencing them to get tattoos right away.

And besides, when you wear long sleeves it's hidden anyway. :)

  6. A tat done with these reasons in mind

I feel are acceptable. First a major part

of your life. Something done with class

reason style and purpose. 2nd placed

on body that will attract compliments

from people of interest. A teacher if

that is who you really are, or want to

be called should really have a better

design . Looks like something I drew

on my body at 13 yrs old.(sorry).

You are a leader of young minds.

A tat of a child looking up for help,

is more your calling. LOVE ? Show

the young child NOT KOOL ON U !

  7. Some parents could have a problem with it but a lot of people are very modern thinking and would be accepting of it. As long as you dont have like swearing or inappropriate slogans as your tattoos. Also if its behind your ear you could just put your hair over it or even put some cover up on it so that it isnt so noticable.

  8. dont worry about it

there's always gonna be those people

who will have a problem with it

    but it doesnt matter

    you are allowed to teach

  9. its okay to get a tatto when your a teacher. but you should make it less noticable like on your back, and if its visible to the kids, make it appropiate haha

  10. umm acually i dont think its such a big deal im sure the parents will be fine about that. :P

  11. To set an influence on the children, i would recommend to remove it. Thats if you know you are positive that you want to be a kindergarden teacher. I personally haven't seen any tattoos on my teachers and that makes them look very professional. If you plan on getting more tattoos, then get some where it won't be visible when wearing clothes. That way you can keep your tattoos a secret. But you know, if the kids see the pre-existing tattoo they are going to be curious about it and ask you tons of questons about it, which leads to being off topic in the learning prosess. Then they would talk about it at home and would make the parents a little nervous. But if you don't want to get in this whole situation, then don't let those tattoos be seen.

    Hope i helped :D

  12. um. the kids may ask you. um maybe try and wear long sleeved shirts and if you can you can just wrap it...i know its a pain but it will resolve parents problems.

  13. i think its fine, but i think that parents wouldnt like it at all!

  14. From a school administrator's point of view, I wouldn't advise it, especially in an area that can be readily seen.  First off, you haven't been hired by a school yet.  It may be a little more difficult to find a teaching position if you have tats showing.  Also, and I realize this is stereotyping, but many parents are concerned of what type of influence the teacher is having on their child, especially at an early age.  So my advise, if you are going to have them, keep them in an area that can't be seen by the students, parents, and administrators.

  15. i have a tat on each of my wrist, and i work in the public. some do and some dont have a problem with it so its hard to say. you will probably get a mixed reaction. you could wear a wide watch or bracelet to kind of conseal it.

  16. it should b fine they might lik ask    y its there or something  but watev

  17. They shouldn't. It's a pretty friendly tattoo.

  18. The parents might have a problem with it. Best hide the tat.

  19. First off, your tattoo is beautiful.

I'm a daycare teacher and I was hired even though I have tattoos (they are on my neck and back) but we have other teachers who have them on their wrists and there is no problem

The kids ask about it a lot, but most of the parents won't say anything to your face. If they have a problem with it, they will get over it because if you were hired, then the school already knows about it.

If you are honestly concerened about it, then try this prodcut called "Tattoo camo" ( www.tattoocamo.com ). I don't know if it works, but it's supposed to. And supposedly it covers tattoos. Anythings worth a shot.

    Good luck!

  20. i think it would be fyn but then again some parents arent there are .....

  21. OMG! I really don't think it looks professional. You shouldn't have. Your students are going to start writing on their bodies. They are going to think it's okay to express what they want on their body parts by way of tattooing. Please get them in a hidden place.

  22. Wear a long sleeve at your interview, and for the first 3 months, after that your probation is over, and legally the school cannot fire you.

I agree that some parents may have an issue with it. But just try not to flaunt it in their faces, and if you don't then it should be none of their business. More and more people are getting tattoos these days, and just because they disagree with it, doesn't mean that we have to conform to their beliefs, nor vice versa, but they need to accept us. Not like you are trying to tattoo their kids right.

I think once they have seen you as you, in the long sleeves for a few months, they won't think about it, plus it is super cute and says love, not like it says 666.

Congrats on graduating now go and make us all proud you little new kindergarten teacher you.

  23. I wouldn't want you teaching my little 'Fool.  Mrs BMW's teaching skills proves my point.  She can't even use spellcheck.

  24. it's not ok to get tattoos especially if you're a kindergarten teacher, unless it's somewhere you can hide it

  25. nahh wear long sleeves on days parents come in, and besides its not like its a naked guy or something, it says love! you must be from philadelphia!

  26. I think you may have a hard time even getting the job unless you wear long sleeved shirts. School politics are h**l. If you hide it during the interview, but  there is an uptight teacher with seniority who sees it and hates it/you, they will work to get you fired. I would make sure that you hide it. Thick bracelets could help hide it too, and if you get the behind the ear one, you can use make-up to cover it. You may run into trouble if people see you outside of work with them too though. Sorry, but our society is still pretty anal.

  27. Aww it's like those Love sculptures! Well my guess is that you might be asked to cover it up by the school. It may depend on the area that you live. If you're in a city, they're more likely to be accepting than if you live in a small town. But I'm not sure what most school policies are, and there are always some people who are against tattoos and might not want their children to be exposed to them or something. Who knows. It seems silly, but then there are parents who think Harry Potter is morally wrong, so you never know what you might come up against in a public school system. That also brings up another thing - rules would be different in private schools than public most likely. In high school I definitely had teachers with visible tattoos, but that was also in super-liberal Berkeley, so I dunno.

  28. not good, your going to have a rough time getting a job

  29. i don't think it would be a problem,

so long as it is nothing too inappropriate to subject a young child too and, given that the school would have to employ you with it, you would assume it would be okay.

Also, alot of people would look past it and, so long as you do your job well, most people wont mind.

and furthermore, if a parent does have a n issue with it, you can simply hide the one on your wrist with long shirts.

As for the one behind your ear; it would be pretty unlikely for it to be noticed too much; maybe, just keep i t small :)

  30. If the school will hire you then yeah its fine

  31. I don't think that it will just be parents who would have a problem with it but also the school system itself when apply for the position i know i would if i was hiring a teacher much less a kindergarten teacher.
