Are taxi's safe?

Question

This may sound rude, and I don't mean to offend anyone by asking this but are taxi's safe? I need to get somewhere tonight, and I have no ride so I'm contemplating taking a taxi. I'm just a little paranoid lately because I've recently been held up at a karaoke room, and I just wanted to task are taxi's safe? and is it possible to ask for a female cab driver..

yes taxies are safe most of the guys come from other countrys and are quite funny to talk to. But that said if you really are that worried take a friend along with you. just smile at the driver and be kind it also wouldnt help to give him a nice tip once you get off the taxi. Oh but dont over do it to much. We wouldnt want him thinking that your hitting on him. It might be hard to find a girl taxi driver but really you will be fine and if all else fails just carry around peper spray in your purse or pocket :)

yes most taxis are safe if they have a permit

(or work for a taxi company that has been licensed to operated

in that city  (like in Los Angeles all taxis have the city seal on the their door of their taxi  meanting they are okay to use

well it depends on who is the driver.  sometimes you will get a bad driver and sometimes you will get a nice driver

Of course there safe. It's the driver you have to worry about. And he or she is probably just a worried about what you might be up to. And what makes you think a female would not attempt anything.

Taxis are safe, but make sure you are dealing with a reputable company.  Do not call a small, shady company with two drivers and two taxis.
