Are teeth whitening kits dangerous?

I really want to use a teeth whitening kit like Crest's. I already have thin, bad, and yellow teeth. Will I benefit from those kits?

I used them and they work just fine, but they are rather expensive. I did a little research and discovered that the main ingredient is nothing more than peroxide. So I went out and bought bicarbonate of soda and peroxide. Now I make a paste with that every day and brush my teeth and it whitens them just as well, freshens my breath, removes plaque and tartar and I save lots of money.

Do you really think your teeth should be whiter than they are. Get it done professionally by a dentist. don't experiment with it. It may harm otherwise.
