My 89-year-old mother needs a simple phone in her assisted living apt. She would lose a cell phone such as the Jitterbug. There are modular jacks in both rooms. The area is Emporia, Kansas, area code 620.

  1. I always keep 1 corded phone in the house.  If the power goes out, cordless phones are useless, and cell phones can't be charged.  In a widespread emergency, every hits their cell-phones and no-one can get through.  With the corded phone, as long as the lines aren't down, it works.
