  1. tennis isn't really.  In recent years (since the 70s) violin has become a popular instrument in east Asia and many immigrant asian families when they have their children learn a musical instrument it is usually the violin or another classical instrument.

I guess this was a long way of me saying the poster who guessed that you were asian was "racial profiling" or stereotyping.

  2. Sounds like an (unfortunate) stereotype, but Asian people are respected because the ones we see in the states are so often gifted (i.e., intelligent and hard working).  Sterotypes can be positive, too.

I don't get the connection between tennis and violin, however.

  3. Asian? Are you serious I can probably defeat many Asians at my local tennis court singlehandedly. That is an incorrect stereotype. In fact I don't see many Asians playing tennis but do see alot playing table tennis.

  4. violin is really asian but i don't think tennis is.

i don't know that many asians who play tennis.

then again, i'm asian and i play violin and tennis but...

  5. I can't see how tennis and violin can be automatically considered asian.  Especially since both are European in nature.

I do see a lot of asian violinists, as most "white" Americans seem to have no appreciation for such an instrument unless it's playing bluegrass music.  A pity.

  6. Well, whenever I think of tennis or violins, I don't think of asian people. Then again, I'm not racist.

  7. well im asian, a lot of people have the asians play violin a lot stereotype which i guess is because they think we are very talented musicly but ive never heard of the tennis one (i play tennis and the guitar) especially considering most asian countries suck at tennis...

  8. My fiance' is both Asian and a violinist and he plays a mean game of tennis. Top in our local leagues... so they probably are Asian.

Don't all Asians play violin and tennis? heh!

  9. No violin and tennis is very European. It's just that America is stupid country that they play weird sports like American handball and other American traditional sports and Americans aren't interested in play instrument. Americans are stupido.
