Question:

Are tennis fans to blame for poor TV coverage? Frustrated beyond belief!?

At first, I thought it was going to affect just the smaller matches. Now, it is even affecting grand slams. If you really love tennis, PLEASE take the time to send a quick letter to whatever channel carries tennis in your area, as well as the ATP and WTA. We must fight for the revival of proper TV coverage for tennis.

  1. I watch tennis whenever I can. I have the tennis channel and I watch it there and if it is on ABC, NBC or whatever channel is broadcasting it I'll watch. ATP and WTA I don't think have all that much say in who is going to broadcast because in all honesty it is up to the network. If they think it'll bring them in money they'll do it but if they don't think so they're not going to show it as much as tennis fans would like. Pretty much all sports are dropping off in the ratings {with the exception of maybe American Football} anyway because of DVR and TIVO. I'm sorry but I don't think letters will do much.

  2. Unfortunately tennis popularity in the U.S. is very low, the rating i read one time was like 1.3 or less than 1 i believe... unless the tennis popularity back to the golden age of tennis, the 70's and early 80's, not much we can do about it.  the problem i have with the broadcasting is, we are so focus on cover the U.S. players' match and ignore higher ranked players matches. now i don't know if this is good or bad for our tennis, it is surely patriotic. however, from a fan's standpoint, i really prefer to see the top players match instead.
