Are thay testing a BIG antimatter Mech this mouth?

I've never heard anyone call the "Large Hadron Collider" an "antimatter Mech" before, though some tiny amounts of antimatter, or  anti particles,  can be the result of some collisions.  I have heard it referred to as a black hole generator that will devour the Earth, but no one sane really believes that.

    but "Scheduled to start in 2008" is about all I found,.

    Yes,  some commissioning  /  testing was scheduled for this month but nothing like full operation. However that page was last updated last month, so I don't know if there have been any delays, they won't be up to full power until next year.
