I am thinking of switching light bulbs in my apartment for energy efficient ones. Are they worth it? Do you really see a difference on your electric bill? Thanks

  1. I changed mine but only got five to six months out of them.  They are  dimmer then older ones, cost a whole lot more.  I am sticking with the old type.

  2. They are not as bright, and last forever.  I believe they are worth it.

  3. I replaced 38 of them in my house and noticed about $5 less in the next electric bill I think the lifespan of the bulbs is the real payoff not the electric bill

  4. They are definitely worth it when at our local supermarket they are cheaper than conventional bulbs.

  5. Yes, they are worth it.  Just be careful & make sure you don't drop em!  There's mercury in them.

  6. i use them in hard to reach ceiling light and enclosed bathroom lights.  they dont seem to give off the same amount of light until they have been on for awhile, but in those hard to reach places, they are great, because you can forget about dragging out the ladder to change them.
