Are the 4 best teams in the NFC in the NFC East?

Lookin at the whole conference, the nfc north is pretty weak. Going into the season i think Minnesota is the best team there, if Tavaris Jackson continues to develop, along with Adrian Peterson & their defense, they can be a 8-9 win team. In the NFC South the Saints and Bucs are probably the best teams, Carolina isnt a complete squad, and Atlanta wont be very competitive anytime soon. The Cardinals have the talent in the NFC West but are inconsistent, i dont see any other team challenging the Seahawks.

The main thing, none of these 3 divisions did anything in the offseason to put them on par wit the NFC East. Starting with the Giants, who won the superbowl, lost several players to retirement but added Kenny Phillips, the best safety in the draft. The Eagles sign Asante Samuel, Redskins trade for Jason Taylor, and the Cowboys draft Felix Jones and sign Zach Thomas Pacman Jones. If all teams stay healthy, are these the 4 best teams in the NFC?

  1. Whoever represents the NFC, in SUPER BOWL XLIII, WILL be from the NFC EAST.

it could be either team and, I don't see ANY of them finishing below 9-7. contrary to all the WISHFUL THINKING on here, the GIANTS, didn't get lucky and, the losses that they incurred, were already anticipated and, compensated for, wtth the exception of Gibril Wilson(no way were the GIANTS, going to give this guy 39 million bucks!) and, that wound up getting covered in the draft AND, free agency.

as for Shockey, He is a great tight end but, downside, became bigger than His upside.

  2. Yes but mainly because of the offseason these three teams had... Samuel was considered the best free agent and the Eagles got him... Taylor and the Redskins, the Giants and...umm wellt eh Giants lost talent actually (straham, shockey), and don't count on the rookie as a star player until he proves he's a star player, and the cowboys got jones, pacman, and Thomas (but thomas is gettin old)

EDIT: Oh Luc@s... do research before you say stuff becuase Mcnabb has the best td-int ration in NFL history.... look it up... but no offense becuase a lot of people don't know that

  3. if favre goes to minnesota the vikes are the best

the cowboys are the second best team

    then probably the seahawks

    then packers

the redskins and eagles are probably tied

    then the saints

the giants just lost too many good players and leaders(strahan, shockey, wilson)

  4. We'll just compare the NFC East to the SEC in college football. :)

Looking forward to the NFC East teams playing one another, as I always do with teams in the SEC going head to head.

  5. I would say no.

    NFC Rankings right now

    1.  Cowboys

    2.  Vikings

    3.  Packers, as long as Favre plays

    4.  Giants

    5.  Redskins

    6.  Buccaneers

    7.  Saints

  6. AFC:

    1) New England - They're still the tops of the AFC

    2) Indianapolis - Peyton & Co. aren't too far behind

    3) San Diego - Would be #2 if Gates wasn't hurt and LT didn't go out like a lil ******

    4) Pittsburg - Big Ben, Big Defense, Big noise up North

    NFC:

    1) Philadelphia: Still no #1 receiver, but they now can shut down both your #1 & #2 receivers

    2) Dallas: The regular season champions look to reclaim their throne

    3) New Orleans: If the newcomers (Vilma, Shockey) produce and stay healthy - watch out!

    4) Minnesota: A stud running back and the best defensive line in football hides the fact that the QB position is still suspect

  7. Yeah the Eagles signed Asante Samuel... that doesnt help them very much considering they have have no WRs... Westbrook is gettin old... and Mcnabb is always getting hurt..

Giants lost a big part of their D with Strahan retiring... and now that Shockey is gone I dont see em doing much...

The only real threat is Dallas... they were good last yr and only got better with all the new additions.

  8. no. eagles suck, minnesota isnt that great, giants were wild card last year, and the cowboys cant win a playoff. I would say the best teams in the NFC are Washington, Green Bay, Seattle, and thats about it.

EDIT*ny21tb- what the h**l are you talking about? the NFC east are not the only ones to represent the NFC in the superbowl you moron. BEFORE last superbowl (giants) a team from NFC east hadnt been in the superbowl for 2 years. then 3 years before the giants there wasnt a team from the nfc east for 10 years! get your facts strait before you start ranting.

  9. Wow a lot of Eagles haters...They improved their D the most, young and fast.  The "O" is improved.  No #1 receiver but they did add a westbrook type in Booker and a burner in Jackson, and they spread the ball around so much it shouldn't matter.

Dallas, as much as I hate to say it.  Is a force and add pacman so they improved the weakest part.  Romo just need to stay single.

Redskins have improved and could be a dark horse.

Minesota will be improved.  New Orleans can be a force. Bucs depending if Gruden's play calling.  Greenbay will be competetive.

    So your assesment is good

  10. Uh . . . no

for 1 the Vikings are among the 4 best

    probably Chicago too

your prediction for minnesota is lop-sided

they will win more - jus wachem

  11. No.

Cowboys may be #1 and Giants #2, but after that spots 3 and 4 are up for grabs between:

    Redskins

    Vikings

    Packers

    Saints

    Eagles

    Seahawks

-and who knows, even the Panthers and Bears have been to Super Bowls in recent years with teams not much better than they have now......

  12. The NFC East as usual will send 3 teams to the playoffs, the only team close to give them any problems from the NFC North would be the Vikings, the Packers with their undecided princess Favre and the Bears with Rex Grossman will not make the playoffs

  13. Dallas (13-3)

    Giants (8-8)

    Redskins (10-6)

    Eagles (7-9)

    My predictions.

Eagles arent that good with dmac at qb. too injury prone and theyve got no WRS

Cowboys are a great all around team. They will succeed.

Skins are going to be great with Two good Qb's and a great team all around them.

Giants. THey lost alot of their suprbowl talent. Shockey and Strahan. They'll compete till week 16 I think.

  14. I think you know what you are talking about. I think regular joes need to replace espn, fox, cbs sports analysts

  15. Eagles are overrated (6-10)

    Redskins-Meh..who knows (8-8 or 7-9)

Giants-lost thier Defensive key point and they did win without Shockey so There probably won't be a problem there,Though which Eli will we see this season? (9-7)

Cowboys-Winners...but can they fricken win a playoff game?(12-4)

    NFC North

    Vikings 11-5

Packers 9-7 even if Favre starts (This team has been in too much c**p in the offseason that they probably have lost focus on many things)

    Lions 7-9

    Bears 5-11

Best teams from the NFC East?..OVERRATED

Only team will be the Cowboys

  16. I'm a Redskins fan but I do believe the NFC east is the best division in the conference (2nd best in the NFL behind AFC south).  I mean the NFC West is easily the worst division in football.  The Seahawks have the benefit of having 6 freebies against the Rams, 49ers, and Cardinals every year.  I think the Packers will fall back to earth.  It's really hard to tell with this Brett Favre thing going on right now.  The Minnesota defense is absolutely awesome.  All of those pro bowlers.  They've got three pro bowl linemen alone.  Adding Jared Allen makes me kind of affraid of them.  What if they really do end up with Favre?  The Packers called back and told the Vikes Favre was available.  Chicago and Detroit will suck again.  Hopefully, Detroit doesn't go like 5-0 or 6-0 again and then fall flat on their face.  In the south, Carolina and Atlanta are both horrible.  The Bucs and Saints aren't far behind.  The Bucs are always one play away from not being in the playoffs and the Saints had their one miracle season now they have to prove themselves again.  Maybe Shockey can help them do that.

  17. that's about right except i wouldn't put the eagles up there, they always choke and mcnabb is always injured or when hes not, hes throwing ints. they need a better qb to be successful.
