  1. no the umps were OK even though they tried to get the swans across the line and they still lost by a point

    classic

  2. Not completely. They may have missed both ways but both teams had chances to put the other away for good and neither caplitalised.

Its just that one mistake close to the end cost the match.

If the same sort of mistake was made in the first quarter it wouldn't have been hyped so much, yet have had the same effect. Its only when the game is drawing to a close that mistakes are so hyped up.

  3. There were dodgy calls both ways. For once the one that counted the most went our way.

P.S. Thanks to Spider for the behind.

  4. No...the boundary umpire was unsighted,  and a goal resulted for Essendon, which  could also be a goal of the year contender.   I have seen instances in the past where a boundary  umpire has "guessed" and was proved to be wrong.        I prefer the theory, pay it as you SEE it, and on this occassion the umpy didnt 'see' it as out, end of story !!.    EVERYONE makes mistakes, I coached in 200 something games and made heaps , some probably costing   us a game or two, but I didnt do it 'deliberately', ...I was trying to do the right thing,  it was simply, 'error of judgement' and you learn from it !    As experienced as Peter Everitt is , he has probably learn't something as well .?

  5. Not at all!

    Essendon Rule!*

  6. No all in all the game call was fair. The umpires only called the free kicks that were there. Its just that the Bombers received more.

I know it must be bad being a Sydney supporter.

    Go Bombers!
