  1. All Blacks

  2. It's gotta be the All Blacks.

They have an unbelievably good team going - in fact, they have two unbelievable teams going with the amount of depth that they have.

And Dan Carter must surely already be one of the greats of the game. He is a complete flyhalf with an educated boot, strong defense and excellent vision on the field.

As for the Wallabies, they have improved a h**l of a lot since their shocking bad season last year. Their forwards have improved a lot and players like Mat Rogers and Stephan Larkham are excellent. But they are no where near as good as New Zealand.

As for the other teams in the world, France and the Springboks have the ability but are unbelievably inconsistent. Both of these teams can be sublime one game and simply terrible the next. Remember however, that the Boks are the only team to beat the All Blacks in the last two years. They have however been hit hard by injuries this season though - the loss of Schalk Burger was a particularly devastating one.

As for the World Cup next year, the smart money will be on the All Blacks but remember that they have basically been the favourites at every WC but have only lifted it once, back in 1987.

I reckon  a clever bet will be France. They have home advantage, a good balanced team and the flair to take it.

    Cheers

  3. I'll agree with Orion that the All Blacks are currently the best team player for player in the world, but don't forget the current World Cup holders when discussing the pretenders to the crown, my friend! England may be playing weakly at present but there are new players coming through and we've always been a great rugby nation.

We may have been thrashed by the Wallabies with a second string team this summer but don't forget we beat them and the Springboks in last year's autumn tests... and we came within four points of beating the mighty All Blacks! I don't think we'll have improved enough to keep our World Cup but you should at least start seeing some competition from England before long.

  4. All Blacks all the way!

  5. For now it's the All Blacks
