world rugby has been riding on the shirt-tails of the All blacks for 100 years. Without them there would be hardly any int'l interest.

yes, it is increasingly amusing to their opponents and crushiong to their supporters that they (depsite being hands-down by every conceivable measurement... the best rugby team on the planet) unable to cope with the pressure of winning a world cup. But, that should never be allowed to detract (too much) from their overwhelming and consistent dominance of the sport

The answer is possibly yes & no.

Outside of the World Cup, they are the best and have been for majority of years in the last 20 or so years.

In terms of the prestigious world rugby tournaments (ie world cups) they are kings of disaster/choking, then yes you are probably correct.

But you do need to distinguish between the two.

I love your comment about the 'most successful team' in the world. Yes, they are hugely successful outside of the world cups but world success is normally measured in achievement at World events (eg Olympics, Footy World Cup), unless you're an AB fan I guess!!

NZ have only won one out of six World Cups and that was at home! The good thing for them is they are at home again next time so it could be No 2.

A great team, yes, but the most successful team in history - you're having a laugh!!

The All Blacks win more than 50% of their games against EVERY nation. Only South Africa comes remotely close to them. No. NZ are not the Village Idiots of World Rugby.  No matter who is the RWC winner, every team wants to play against the AB,s and win.  All other teams strive to beat the ABs

Are you aware that the All Blacks are the most successful team in sporting history??  Not just rugby.  They have the BEST winning percentage of any other sports team in the world.  As for village idiot, that prestigious award goes to you, my friend, for your clearly uneducated question.
