Are the Amish feeling the pinch of rising fuel prices?

  1. Rising fuel costs effect everyone in some way. By the way, I live in Amish country and they still depend on vehicles to get to work, they just hire someone to drive them. I do respect their way of living though.


  2. no they are the only  ones  probably  not getting  jerked at the gas pump

  3. LOL. Actually, while they probably aren't hurting as badly as most of us, they still purchase goods from outside of their communities. Those goods have to be produced and shipped with higher fuel costs, which translates to higher cost overall. Some Amish communities also use fuel oil for heating in winter. I'm sure they're noticing the effects in some ways, but at least they don't have to buy gas every other day. This question has got me to thinking about buying a horse. I wonder if feed is cheaper than gas? :P
