Are the Asics GEL-Kinsei 2 running shoes as good as they are cracked up to be????

I am not buying them becaus ethey are expensive, but because they sound to good to be true, and look good at the same time.

Are they really THAT good??

pretty much all asics running shoes are A+ shoes. Most of them have their special support mechanism, PHF (personal heal fit), a great arch, good design technology, and are fairly light. I love my asics.

I never had them. When I buy a running shoe I make sure it's comfortable and supports my foot.

Yes, it is a good shoe...providing its the right pair for you.  Go to a running store and get properly fitted according to your gait, foot type, pronation and form.  If you like what they recommend, ask them to try them out on the streets or on their treadmill.  If its too expensive, go on to Ebay or shop on- line to get a better price.  Comfort and proper fit should be the most important thing.

I often buy my shoes on ebay, I save about 40-60%.  Only when I feel I need a new type of shoe, I will go into a running store and buy them. (I buy 3-4 pairs per year because of the mileage)

Perhaps look around some more.  They are pricier than most runners...I'd try other brands.

In the past I've ran in Mizunos, Brooks, Sauconys, Asics, Nike,New Balance, Montrail and so far, Brooks been my best fit for the last 4 years for road running.  Mizunos are my alternate brand and Montrail is my favorite on the trails.
