I agree with the person above with NBC's coverage being marginal, and seeing way to much of Michael Phelps' mother. They showed clips of her during the marathon running. RANDOM.

Other than that, I really enjoyed watching these olympics, but I didn't really watch any of the other olympics. I'd watch certain sports with my mom, but that's it.

It is too political this year, and who tapes the intro in advance? like come on the beginning opening ceremony is supposed to be done LIVE not taped to look awesome on tv.

No, Sydney 2000 was the Best! Standing at Circular Quay, watching Cathy Freeman win Gold in the 400m was amazing on the Giant screen, thousands of people watching on the streets, and you could have heard a pin drop, everyone was held their breath untill she won!

Not so.In addition, this Bejing Olympic's inauguation isn't real ,but a computer generated -plus the voice of the girl child in't showen on public since she has less glamour.

No - I can remember the Montreal games in 1976.  They followed the tragedy of the Munich 1972 games with the slaughter of the Israeli team by terrorists, and they were healing.  The pageantry was wonderful, but more than anything they righted the Olympics at that time.  The 2008 Beijing Olympics have a very artificial feel about them - probably because the Chinese government has made them just that - a facade.

The opening ceremonies were the best I've seen.  Much less of the weird interpretive stuff that I never understand anyway. NBC's coverage is marginal as always.  I know more about Michael Phelps' mother than I do about most of the athletes, and given the choice, I'd rather not.

Best I've seen this year. All have been amazing in some way. Sydney stands out as a great one.
