Are the Brewers doing EVERYTHING they can to....?

3 complete games in his last 4 starts, are the Brewers doing EVERYTHING they can to trash CC Sabathia's arm before the regular season is over?

He's been amazing since joining the Brewers (I'm jealous, wanted him in Cubbie Blue) but am I the only one that thinks he's doing too much?

  1. Is this a serious question?

The Brewers are renting this guy for a possible World Series title. They will ride him as far as they can.

    C. C.  is the one to ask.

He is pitching for a chance to get megabucks next year and at least 7 or 8 more years of megabucks.

With a long term (probably 7 or 8 year) contract at a guaranteed 20,000,000 dollars per year, why should he worry about his arm.

Get it now? The h**l with the future. C. C. is set.

    Let the GM's beware.

We are talking 1/5 of a "Billion" bucks.

Do you still want to be a GM or the owner of a contending club?

    Not me!

  2. The Brewers right now are hot. If they had played this way all year, right now, they'd be up by 12.

As for Sabathia, the Cubs could have him next year, if they want to compete with Steinbrenner, he's just "on loan" to Milwaukee. This is their "window of opportunity."

  3. Are you really serious about trashing his arm?  CC's last game 2 complete games were 104 and 110 pitches.  Other pitchers have more pitches than that and barely make it through 6 or 7 innings.  I think they are letting CC do his thing, and he is pitching well enough to take complete games.  If he wasn't pitching well the brewers wouldn't force him to pitch complete games.  He is just on a roll right now and the Brewers are riding the wave and loving it.

  4. No.... I agree with ya on this.  (and the Cubbie Blue thing)

BUT...it also shows you how badly the Indians were miusing the guy.  Glad he is on  ateam that can use him.

Plus... I seem to remember a time before pitch counts became King..and guys like Nolan Ryan and Orel Herschizer.

I think...today...with the pithc count...the Stretch reliever, the 9th inning specialist... Baseballs coddles pitchers too much sometimes.

  5. He'll be fine for this season, its next year that the Brewers don't care about. CC has said he will test free agency so the brewers don't need to keep him healthy since he is not signed long term to them.

  6. Dude, dont be letting our secret plan out. You know how we are working with Ned Yost and all to tire CC out LOL

CC is a big guy Im sure he can take it. But then again, KW is a big guy and Dusty Baker F'd him up by letting him pitch too much.

  7. Innings pitched is overrated.

First of all, it's not the total innings pitched, it's the stress of each inning. CC has 3 straight CGs so he has oviously hasn't been stressed out every inning or he wouldn't be able to finish those games. Plus it's not like he's throwing 130 pitches every time out. And he pitched almost 260 total innings last year and he has not gotten injured and he's still a stud. I'm not worried about the innings pitched at all unless the pitch counts of these games begin to creep towards 125, 130ish.
