Are the Brisbane Broncos the Greatest Rugby league side ever.?

Well, being a Broncos supporter, I would agree with you, but even I can't agree with you.

Looking in history, other sides have won more premierships, although years ago the NRL was a joke, it was so easy for the richest team. As such, looking at premierships, you wouldn't get the Broncos.

However, since they joined the comp, they have always been a very competitive team, and I don't think that they have ever not made top 8. This, in my book is a huge plus.

Teams in the past may have been the greatest teams in their day, but really, I don't think that any historical team could compare with a modern day side. Modern sides are professional teams, and spend so much time training. They are at a level above and past team. In this light, the Broncos would be a step closer.

All up though, while i believe that the Broncos would be very close to being the greatest side, i think that they were stronger two years ago. Not only this, but I believe that presently Melbourne is the better team, although they are on the decline.

One or two years and the Broncos will be. Especially if they get Bellamy and Smith from the Storm.

yes the broncos are the greatest team in histroy with 6 premierships already in there short life as a club , this stat only stands momentarily though because if melbourne are to win the comp this year they will have 3 premierships in just 10 years!!!.. about this years premiership i tihnk its too eraly to make any predictions

As a completely biased Broncos fan, I would have to say - d**n straight they are!

But looking a bit more objectively, they are definitely the greatest club of the last 15 or so years (6 premierships out of 15!! (16 if your count 1997 as two years)), however as they didn't exist prior to 1988, it's a bit much saying "ever".

But, ignoring that last paragraph, in a word - YES!

i must have missed the part where they won 11 premierships in a row.

and as mentioed above, they havnt been around all that long. how about making the call in another 90 years like some other clubs when they have gone through some bad times as well as the good.

i dont doubt that they are a very good consistent team though

What sort of flag do you win?  Aussie, Qld, Union Jack?  

I think melbourne, Easts or Cronulla will be in the mix at the end.  I support Penrith and maybe in 2 years we will win if the juniors stay.

St George of the 50's and 60's are and will always be the best side ever if you can win 11 in a row.  If a brisbane or melbourne can do that or better, then they can claim the throne.

Also, in the 50's and 60's Wests were the team who bought all the players, and were not able to buy a premiership!

Didn't St George win 11 years in a row? 1956 to 1966. The Broncos may be the best team of the last two or three decades - but noone has, nor will again dominate like the Dragons did then.

LOOK I LOVE THE BRONCOS LIKE NO OTHER  but you cannot say there better than  100 yrs of history teams like souths  easts roosters  manly or parra and of course st george they are up there but time will tell love the energy and commitment of 2008  david taylor will in time be spoken of like lazuras  as best prop in modern era
