  1. This is yahoo, not the real world

    answer: yes

  2. YES we are allies (I'm an American, San Diego) and I don't blame Brits or anyone else who hates the US government. I feel a hostage in my own country by mindless policies that have poisoned the well for us all. Since Bush promotes himself a man of God, I can't help but think that the lot of them are all going to rot in h**l.

As far as Americans being slobs when we travel, yes I cringe myself when I watch fellow citizens act like they're celebrities on holiday and not guests in someone else's home.

My hometown is a tourist spot and visitors from other states are as ugly to us Californians as it is appaling to all of you.

Oh, and it looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger will be our next President?! Life is so surreal!!!

  3. Even families squabble and disagree. It doesn't mean they don't love and support each other. When it really matters we will be there for each other.

  4. yes,,even if they did kick us out of their country,,with the help of the french,,washinton was british trained.. the king taxed them  like the labour party are taxing us now...HELP

  5. YES...just been surfing looking for properties in the US...I would move there in a shot...just gotta win the lottery first :)

  7. love the yanks,yes i do

  8. no,no,no                i would not trust the yanks as far has i could throw them, the trouble with them is that thay think thay can do what thay want to, and that thay rule the world, and if you dont do what we say then we will bomb you,,but first be four we do lets get the british goverment on ourside first,oh shane from miami says he loves the british, the point is do we love the yanks, well shane you no what i thing of you. but most of my anger to the yanks is at your goverment.

  9. Yes, Who else can we trust in the world ? when the chips are down the Americans have always backed us up.

  10. Friends, Politically, no the US is the pushy one, and the UK is forced to choose the lesser of two evils, European Parliament, or Washington.

On a human level, as a Englishman, I find Americans somewhat insular - that is they come accross as uneducated or naive regarding international matters, loud, and chronically overfed. However, I also find them to be very warm hearted and good humoured - but we are all individuals, so there are many exceptions to this rule - good bad and ugly.

You can not claim to be the best in the world, if you then exclude the rest of the world from competing with you on a level playing field, or competing at all. Friendship is a two way street. The UK would be happy to accept our debt to America when it bailed us out of the second world war, with materials and equipment, but when (Hollywood) America then re-writes our history and tries to sell it back to us, we get a little irate.

Alliances are made between governments, and very few in the UK would I imagine understand why you in the US would inflict George W onto yourself, so we have very little confidence in your mentality as a nation these days. The alliance is pushed further to the limit when you them unleash George W onto the rest of the world, but us in particular.

  11. ??

'two nations divided by a common language' I have heard said, true!

  12. YES!!

I Love the UK. 97% of my m8's are from there. Now only if more yanks could be like them. :p

  13. YES

im american and i love the british!

  14. I,m tapping on a bit now,but I will always be grateful for the Yanks helping U.K.to keep this world of ours free from the n**i,s and bestiality of the j**s, you will not understand, you had to be there.

  15. Yes. Hey ultimately we're family and yeah we will have our differences, but at the end of the day we're family...at least until Mexico completes its Reconquista of our nation and we stop speaking the King's English.

  16. Yes, reason -- we have been allied to the UK in many a conflict..The U.K is the only reliable friend we can depend on...

  17. The idea of two nations being 'friends' doesn't really make any sense.  The US and UK have been allies for almost a century.  Politically and militarily.

Culturally however...we remain very different.  America is a relatively young society while Britain is unmistakably European in its outlook and behaviour.  Or at least...it was before Blair fell in love with Dubbya!

  18. NO-britain does all the hard work_USA takes praise and benefits financially.

  19. Yes we are. I know we are the only two countries in the world which speak the same language but still need translators but thats all part of the fun. Long may our friendship continue.

  20. Yes, we are allies. We don't blame you for Blair; please don't judge us by Bush.

Despite all the silly arguments about different spellings, bad teeth and fat American jokes, we care and support our British allies.

  21. No - but we should strive to be better allies.

I'm sure the situation will get better when the Bush administration leaves office in fact.

  22. YES

  23. Bush put an end to any alliance I have with America.  No problems with Americans, but the country is making the world a worse place to live in.

  24. no.

  25. Up until 1945, yes.

  26. Being friends involves listening to the other person and taking their thoughts and feelings into account. It involves not doing things that may be in your best interest if the same things might hurt your friend. It involves sharing, not s******g someone out of huge amounts of money.

Being friends is supposed to be a two way street.

It's been all one-way since the end of the cold war, and I'm fed up with it. I want the US to be my friend, but not at this price.

  27. Yes ,but unless I've missed something the USA didn't declare war on Germany in the second world war the Germans declared war on America,At the time of Suez the USA slapped the uk's wrist and told us to get out.But to be fair they gave us important information on the Falklands,I feel our relationship is like a pretty girl who's best friend is ugly ,the pritygirl looks prettier and the ugly one thinks every ones looking at her

  28. Yes, we're allies and most likely will be until the sun burns out.

Yes, we're friends, but we really are much more than that. We have the deep ties that bind us, through immigration, marriage and blood. We're more like family and as in any family there will be quarrels, but they don't last long.

My grandmother came from England in the 50's and became an American citizen. She told me years ago that she was proud to be an American, but she would always be British. She believed the two were and could be one.

PS Do you think big red, can pull off an attacking game again?  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€ÂœGo Manchester United”

  29. Yes - but:-

I've had several holidays in the states and they've always been great fun. Americans are friendly and articulate in their own land. As soon as they travel to other countries they invariably become loud and rude, constantly bemoaning the fact that things in other countries aren't exactly the same as they are back in states. I'm convinced this failing is the reason we're all suffering from the effects of disastrous American foreign policy. I'm sure Bush's advisers probably thought that they'd be attending the grand opening the Disney Land Baghdad resort by now. We learned a century ago that it wasn't our job to run the world - the Americans need to reach the same conclusion some time soon.

On a brighter note London and New York are in a dead heat for the greatest cities on the planet.

  30. Yes. It doesn't matter about little petty squabbles about who spells what right or wrong, I like to think the UK and US will always look after each other especially in times of trouble.

  31. Yes.

Despite our increasing differences we are very similar. As a Brit I would say we are closer to the American people than the Europeans.

Most of us don't think much of your government at present - better luck with that in the future.

Anyway all parents love their offspring don't they?
