Question:

Are the Bush's Masons?

It's been well documented... factuall maybe, but at least documented, that much of this nation is built on the ideals, and backs, of Masons, both free and red. However I have never seen anything about either Bush president as to be a Mason of any kind, so I am wondering, are they?

Anyone know?

  1. Neither are Freemasons.

    to some others:

    * A lot of people claim they are but they are not, and never have been.

    * most politicians are not masons

    * The US Constitution and Declaration of Independence were authored and edited by Freemasons (Hancock, Franklin, Washington, etc...), it is not speculation that the principles contained therein are influenced by Freemasonry...

  2. No- they are not Masons. They belong to Skull-And-Bones, which has no connections to Masonry.

  3. No, he nor his father are Masons. This rumor was started by the same people that call him Hitler, killer, anti-Christ, idiot, etc. He was a member of Skull & Bones but that's as close as it gets. The last president that was a Mason was Gerald Ford. Believe nothing you read or hear and half of what you see.

  4. Most politicians are Masons, as are most high ranking members of the police and Judiciary. A non Mason would readily admit to not being one, a Mason would just keep their mouth shut, on this premise I would say Bush is definitely one.

  5. No.  Neither Bush President was a Mason however they were both in the Yale fraturnity Skull and Bones.  Along with W's Grandfather, three genereations of Yale man and all Bonesmen.  Below is a list of Masonic Presidents as comfirmed by Lodge records.  I am a 32° Mason and a Lodge Historian, I hope this answers your question once and for all.

Hoskinson, Grand Master of Masons in Ohio.

          Warren Gamaliel Harding, 29th President, 1921 - 1923, made a Mason August 27, 1920, in Marion Lodge No. 70, F. & A.M., Marion, Ohio.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, 32nd President, 1933 - 1945, made a Mason November 28, 1911, in Holland Lodge No. 8, F. & A.M., New York, New York, the same Lodge in which George Washington, the Nation's first President, held Honorary membership.

  6. I have heard from many sources that they are masons, and I have never heard anything to the contrary regarding that, neither the Bushs' saying they're not, or anyone else. Therefore, the most probable conclusion to come to is that they are masons.

I'm not sure they would openly confess that they are masons(because it would certainly bother some people), but they have never disagreed with the statement either.

  7. Not a chance they are just plain evil-masons wouldn't even allow their type!

  8. No. The Bush family has a long history of belonging to the Skull and Bones fraternity which is exclusive of Yale University, it however has no relationship with Freemasonry, although in all likely hood the founders of the fraternity tried to emulate some aspects of Masonry, or at least of what they perceived Masonry to be.

The Bush family has no record of being Masons, and Masons do not usually hide or deny their affiliations, no reason to.

As far as our nation being built upon Masonry...it's really quite speculative; Masonic ideals run parallel with age of enlightenment ideals, but one did not give birth to the other, both the age of reason (or enlightenment) and Freemasonry would have existed independently without the other, so which really influenced our founding fathers? Hard to say for sure, the fact that some were Masons is hardly proof enough to say either way.
