I am working on old Stereograph cards and there are numerous Caribbean Islands listed (i.e. Dominica, Martinique). In order to classify I need a continent listed.

  1. no

  2. I'm sure they belong to the north american continent

  3. isnt everything on a contentent

    idk

but i thought that everywere belonged to one contenent or another

    my suggestion is ""google""

  4. Geographically they are not part of any continent.  Politically, most of them down to a certain point are considered North America.  I believe as you get closer to the South American mainland, those island nations (such as Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago) are considered South American.

  5. Isn't everything on one content.

  6. most of the Caribbean islands are volcanic in nature. as to being part of a continent i suppose most of them a re associated with north america.

  7. Geopolitically speaking they are normally classed as part of the North American continent. However, geologically speaking the various islands are split between the large North American tectonic plate, and a smaller minor plate, the Caribbean Plate. Diagram in sources.

  8. North America; Central America is part of North America.

Some of the southernmost islands are part of the South American landmass, but are generally grouped with their North American friends.

  9. Either North America or Central America. Either works.
