Are the Celtics a lock to win the East next year?

Laker fan: Never heard the term "lock" before?

They will only get better. Last year was the 1st yr they all played together. The familiarity with each other and the experience of winning a title together will make them that much more formidable. Unfortunately, for every other team in the NBA.

i am going to be a bit bias with my answer, but I'd like to see how they handle the Toronto Raptors now that they have two big men down low.  Which one will KG guard and who will get to exploit Kendrick Perkins.  If injuries aren't a problem, Calderon having another year of studying tape, and improving his skills, and Kapono now going to get more open looks with the two big men down low, I want to give the Raptors a running chance (them being my home town team)

not a lock but one of the favorites..last season they went through two 7 game series against teams they should've swept... you also have teams like the pistons who will be back and the sixers

They are the favorites, but there is a lot of competition now in the Eastern Conference with the Sixers, Pistons, Raptors, and Heat.  But you are right about the Celtics just getting better.  This year their team chemistry will be better than ever.  Last year, they had to adjust to each other.

They arent a "lock" the celtics will of course contend for the NBA champions again but it will be tougher soo i wouldnt say a lock because every team in the east is going to be better this year
