Are the Celtics one and done like the Heat when they won the championship?

Their best player was coming off the bench. I am not a Heat fan but Wade won the series like Posey won it for the Celtics. The Celtic trio was horrible throughout the series in the fourth quarter minus Game 6.

are you kidding me. the only person that the celtics lost is james posey. but they stillhave all the other key players. in the east they will easily get to the finals and win. the only reason why the heat were one and done was because of shaq. the celtics dont have a annoying player like shaq on there team to hold them back. plus they have the best coach in the NBA. anythings possible.

YEP. they were an experimental team who was suppose to last one year. look at their contracts the big 3 are basically the teams whole salary, so you can scratch signing any more talent for a good deal. unlike the spurs who have been good for 10 years the celtics are trying to just be good for 2-3.

If there was a one and done team, it would be Lakers.  They lost two of their best bench.  Or should I say will loose Sasha but already lost Turiaf.  Gasol is weak and will never be able to compete against the best.  Bynum will never return from knee injury.  Odom will be run-off by all the Kobefanboy.  Kobe will choke as he always have in big games.

Lakers won't even make it back to the final the way things are shaping up.

It seems Kobfanboy are still upset about the 39 whipping Celtics gave to Lakers.

No i think they might be more like the Detroit Pistons. Not the Isiah Thomas Pistons but the new one's. The one's that have gone to the eastern conference finals in every one of their last 6 seasons. Beat the Lakers & lost to the Spurs in the Finals. I think they'll have one more run at the Finals. They might not make it this next season, but maybe the next one after that, or the one after that. I doubt Garnett will be as hungary this year. I think it'll take them a year of being out of it for them to come back & get in it again. No chance they'll be like the Heat with Shaq & Wade lol.

Celtics will be back. They got experience on their side now. Posey was a decent sized loss, but their experiences makes up for it. Plus, Rondo and Powe have developed more. They'll be guys to look out for. A year working together will have allowed this team to bond. Remember, they still have Garnett, Pierce, and Allen. They have the most dangerous lineup in the league. Whether they will win or not, we don't know. But if I was gambling, I'd put my money on them. They have the best chance of all the teams.

depends on if Pierce can come back from SIX heart transplants that he received this morning.

My guess is they will be back in the Finals, cuz we all know Pierce can heal from injuries in a heartbeat.

ABOUT TIME! someone said it see every other team is improving getting better by the day, while the celtics well they can't get any better they were at their best they did something the 04-05 lakers couldn't get a championship with several all-stars. I'm gonna be laughing my a$$ off when they barely or don't make the playoffs. The whole team is like shaq all they had left in them was 1 championship, the big 3 will be surrounded by a bunch of tired old men. They will never admit but they relied on that bench and home court advantage all through the playoffs. You can bet your a$$ they won't have that next year and that huge flaw will be revealed and they will be ousted as the cheating losers they are.

BUT

history is an EXCELLENT indicator of future results...given that Danny and Doc built THE CURRENT WORLD CHAMPIONS, I'm pretty sure if Danny can sign 'em, Doc can motivate them...word out of the league office is there is more than one FA available and this off-season isn't over quite yet...as to the effectiveness of the Big 3 in the Finals, go ask the LA players about that...

They are by no means done. Now with one championship under their belts, they're not going to go soft. Especially Kevin Garnett. They want that other ring to prove their not a one hit wonder. And what series were you watching? The series of Celtics vs. Lakers, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen killed it. They should have tied for MVP. They may have had slumps in the ECF, but they came through in the end. And if Posey won it for the Celtics, why wasn't he MVP? I love Posey, but come on. He did not win it for Boston. He just helped out.

Their best players all are over 31.  They are all paid crazy amounts of money all three of them over 15 mil.  They wont have a chance to make it to the finals again because all the teams in the east got better, even Heat which had the worse record.  Sorry celtics, only ring you will ever get.

no because unlike miami,they had 3 stars to depend on. miami had only wade who was injured the next two years which costed them and their key players such as posey and kapono left their team because they new they werent going anywhere. boston still has most of their team back

No way is posey the same as wade. Posey is role player and excellent defender.  He doesn't have to carry the team offensively and plays limited minutes which makes him fresher and all his job is to do is play defense and hang out at the three point line.  Easy job.

Well, they won't get swept in the first round like the Heat did the following year. I see another Lakers-Celtics matchup with the Lakers winning this time. They lost Posey, but they still have KG, Ray Allen, and Pierce.

Good point about the big three doing bad in game 6. Ray Allen did great though, he had 7 3's, but KG and Pierce didn't do much. Posey, Brown, House, Perkins, Rondo. Those are guys are the reason they won the title.
