Only those who have fallen away from the Universal Church are thought to be anathema (avoided). These fallen away Christians are usually known as Protestants who "Protested" against the Catholic teachings during the medieval times. In these modern times the Protestant church continues to divide amongst itself having spawn many new wave fundamentalist who are taught to persecute the Ancient Church of Christ.
