  1. That is what a lot of Chicago Cubs haters say, but who knows there is still a few weeks away from September. But last season the Chicago Cubs proved to be

    Completely

    Useless

    Beyond

    September

And it still manged to fit most of those words, and who knows it could happen again this year. But come on, when was the last time the Chicago Cubs have ever made it to the playoffs 2 years in a row. The Chicago Cubs can be a team that can be loved by thier fans, and at the same time be hated by other people.

  2. I don't hate the Cubs but you can't change "FATE" .

They are going to " choke " just like every other Cubs team for the last 100 years . Now that's one h**l of a streak . It stuns the imagination to think of all the poor fans who lived and died rooting for a team that always LOSES . What we have now is another group of fans that think this will be the year . I'm not bursting your bubble of hope , the Cubs will do that . I don't suppose that I'll get best answer but I just want to tell the truth . Just wait and see , the season is winding down soon and so will the Cubs . Then I'll bet we will hear " wait til next year " .

  3. Not this year! Go cubs!

  4. Cubs will be in the playoffs via the wild card or division. I'm from Boston and I'm a Sox fan, but looking at the Cubs roster now they have so much depth in their offense. The only thing I'd be worried about if I were a Cubs fan is the Sep. 16-18 and 26-28 against the Brewers.

  5. i dont think theyll do great in september, but theyll play well enough to get into the playoffs.  Theyve had a history of s******g up in september, but thats not something you should base this team off of, considering they arent the same team.

  6. First, I'm not a Cub hater. I'm a Cardinals fan, that's all.

Second, it is a true statement when I say that the Cubs' biggest enemy for the rest of the season is themselves. You have a month and a half of a season to go and the division race is all but over. You have the second best record in the MLB and the best record in the NL. Should be easy from here out, right?

    Not so fast.

It's a tough line to walk. Do you keep playing the regulars all the time or rest them? If you rest them too much, they may get out of rhythm and then by the playoffs they run into a hot wild card or other division winning team that has been playing its regulars all the time to keep themselves in the playoffs hunt.

The '04 and '05 Cardinals were in the same position, neither of those teams won. The '06 Cardinals team could barely get to the playoffs and then won it all. The 2000 Seattle Mariners team (coached by Lou Piniella) had well over 100 wins...lost to the Yankees (an 87 win team) in the playoffs.

My friend, your worries are far from over. You may win the division easily but if you think it's gonna be easy to get to that magical world of the World Series or even win the World Series, you have a serious dose of reality headed your way.

The playoffs are a new, different season.

If the Cubs are useless in September, it could lead to them being a first-round exit in October.

  7. I am a Cub hater.  LOL.

However, I see the Cubs going to the World Series this year.

I think the Angels are going to win it all, but the Cubs will be there.

    Good luck, Cubs fan!

  8. Not a Cubs fan but i believe hey will be just fine.

  9. I am NOT a Cub hater but I would say that if their going down they should start any time now!

  10. The Cubs are on fire and they will most likely win the division. That is a good team and I think they will make the World Series. They have a good starting rotation who can match up with anybody else's and they have a pretty good offense. I'm sold on the Cubs making it there, but I'm not convinced that they will win it. The Angels just look more like a team who will win it all, and compare road records. The Angels have a better one, and they also have home field advantage. I know that doesn't assure anything, but the odds are in the Angels favor to win it all.
