Question:

Are the Cubs done in the trade market this year?

Harden was a great pick up but I still think they need a left handed bat. I don't look for them to acquire Dunn or Griffey beacuse the price is too high and Walt Jockettly a former Cardinals GM would never trade them to the Cubs but who else out their hits from the left side that could be available.

Edmonds bat has slowed down lately and I think he will need some days off. Reed Johnson has been a good pickup this year but he hits right handed leaving Fukudome as the only left handed hitter in the lineup when Edmonds sits unless Z is pitching. Would the cubs consider Nate NcClouth from Pittsburg?

  1. NcClouth would be a great acquistion but Mark Teixera(switch hitter) would be great the problem is no dh and first base is taken.

possible could move fukudome to left soriano to center and try to make texiera a right fielder but the speed might not be there.

  2. pittsburg wud no trade him to the cubs

    think buddy

  3. The Cubs have a weak farm system. Anything they had of value they gave up for Harden. They are done.

  4. Fukudome isnt the only lefty hitter Mike Fontenot is on a hot streak and Drayle Ward is a sufficient bench player. To answer your question they are done in the market in my eyes their line up is the most feared when they are hitting well.Nate Mclouth would be great but Felix Pie (lefty) looks to be our outfielder of the future but right now edmonds needs to get hot and we will be fine

  5. As a diehard Braves fan, I'm tellin you that the Braves arent gonna trade Teixeira. They don't think the market is good so we'll just take our two comp picks in the first round when we don't resign him.

Oh and Tex in RF, that's a laugh. NO chance
