The Irish government wants to hold a 'National Consultation Process' which will inform those in power just why there was a 'No' vote on the Lisbon Treaty. To save a lot of money, can anyone here help them?

  1. Officeman where have you been since 1973?

As I understand it, the Yes camp - as usual - didn't put enough effort to making sure the correct information was made available & in a form people would understand, or at least, didn't manage to get in their say before the nay sayers.  Meanwhile, the No camp trailed their manure all over the show & got right down to the grassroots and spread it about good and proper - I swear, if they'd come out with some of the stuff I heard during the referendum 20 years ago you wouldn't say anything, it was baffling to hear it now and I think it raised other interesting points that need to be discussed like abortion, neutrality, etc, etc.

  2. The Irish people are not anti the E.U. however there are many reasons why people voted No in the recent referendum. Some voted no because there was not a sufficient explanation on what changes it would make, and why? Again, people voted know because they had doubts on Tax, Fishing, Farming, the loss of one of their M.E.P's. Already they have seen the death of the Sugar industry due to the last world trade talks, and there is fear  in the farming industry regarding the present World Trade talks.

What is not helpful in the present situation is the pressure coming from the French, in particular from their President, and also from the Germans. The more they try to push for another vote in Ireland on Lisbon, the more votes they will gather for a No vote again. Irish people will decide for themselves, they are an equal voice in Europe, ready to play their part for the good of all, but they will not be walked upon either.

  3. People said no because none of us knew what the the treaty was about. Are you going to vote on something that you don't know what the out come will be if it gets ratified, I think not.

  4. It's wrong to force this on them again; what part of "NO" don't the Eurocrats understand exactly ?

  5. The Lisbon treaty is an attempt by the EU to transfer the sovereignty of a country to the EU, i.e. the EU government (non-elected and non-accountable) would be able to overrule national governments.  The French have previously voted against this, the dutch are demanding a vote and their government won't let them, and Irish are onto the scheme and rejected it.

This is the most Anti-Democratic document that you'll probably ever see.

  6. I imagine it would go something like this. "We are Irish damnit, not Belgian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and certainly not English! Government decisions concerning Ireland will be made by Irishmen and Irishmen alone. I believe in Ireland, I believe Manchester United can go to h**l and I believe I'll have another beer. (I know the UK is not part of the European Union, at least not yet).

  7. People have said no because they didn't want it.

    AND

they are saying NO again to a re-vote.

The Irish are lucky, the rest of Europe was not given the opportunity to say NO.

There would be many more NO votes if there had been the opportunity for other nations to vote.

The treaty in reality would turn the EEC into a Soviet like state. where we have no say in the leaders, we don't vote them in & can't vote them out. We all saw what the Jew/Bolshevik revolution did in Russia & the holocaust in Russia & the Ukraine over 30.000,000 Christians died.  8,000,000 in the Ukraine alone prior to WW2.

WE do not need to return to these dark days.

  8. I believe that they are saying what a lot of Europeans are saying.  They want no part of the European Union.  The European Union is accomplishing by deception and betrayal, what Napoleon, Stalin and Hitler, were unable to accomplish by military power.

The European Unions was originally supposed to by just a trade agreement about coal.  This was a deception.  The real purpose what to create a one-country, Europe.  The politicians of various nations, betrayed their people, selling out their interests to the globalists behind the European Union.

The same thing is occuring here.  We are being sold out by our own politicians, as well as the people of Canada and Mexico.  This is being done by deception.  We are told that "there is no North American Union", by our lying politicians.  But we know better.

Let's hope that millions of Europeans will work within their respective nations to dismantle the European Union.  We, in the US are working to expose, and rout the North American Union.
