Considering he's the greatest quarterback to ever play the game of football?

Of course I'm just kidding but I do think that the Jets have a good shot at winning the AFC East. On paper, they've got an outstanding o-line with the additions of Faneca and Woody, and a defense that could be dominant with Calvin Pace and Vernon Gholston bringing the pressure to a D that was already solid thanks to the likes of David Harris, Darrelle Revis, and Kerry Rhodes. So basically they solved their 2 biggest problems from last year and also added Favre, who is probably one of the top 5 QBs playing right now. We all know Brady isn't anything special when under pressure and with that offensive line being exposed, the Jets could beat the Pats.

I picked the Jets to go 10-6 before the Favre trade. Now, based on their weak schedule, I think they can even go 13-3, with losses to only the Chargers, 1 game to the Bills, and 1 game to the Patriots.

  1. I think you're giving them wayyyyy too much weight.  13-3?? What have you been smokin'?

No doubt they are a better team now but you need to come down from the clouds and face reality.  They might.........MIGHT win 3-4 more games and maybe, MAYBE compete for a wildcard spot.

  2. Man, I would love it if the Jets could win the East instead of the Patriots. But I really doubt that would happen... This might happen in a couple of years.. but everyone on the Jets are so new to each other since the Jets basically re-did the whole team, they spent 100 million dollars during the off-season. But when you look at the Patriots, they are a veteran team who has been outstanding in the past 8 years. The Jets just came off of a 4-12 season... I really don't see them jumping from that to a 13-3.  For me, winning the East is just way too out there. A wild card spot though is much more logical. I see them going 10-6 or 9-7. Unfortunately for them though, they are in the AFC so they will be competing against teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, Tennessee, Houston (yes I know that might sound crazy but trust me they are good) for the wild card spot.

  3. I think that the New York Jets will continue to be the mediocre team that they have been in the paat.  I don't think that the addition of Brett Favre will make a difference at all.  I think that 16 seasons with the Packers have pretty well used him up, and evidently so do the Packers or they would have wanted him back.  Sorry Brett but it is a bit sad to see you come back after retirement.  You should have taken the classy way and gone out still on top the way John Elway did.  I'll always think you were great but I think you should stay gone and let people remember what you did on the field, not what came after.  Call me Baddogg!

  4. only to jet fans. No SB, not even playoffs. To be honest, the will be lucky to get .500

  5. Nahh. I don't think that they will go 13-3.

    Maybe .500

Favre is running out of gas [should have stayed retired]. He hasn't played with this team nearly enough to know what is going on. He doesn't have the same relationship with the receivers. I don't think its going to be any kind of cinderella story what so ever.

  6. are you dumb? i would pick 5 other teams before the jets to be superbowl favorites. Colts,Chargers,Pats,Cowboys,Vikings

might i add the reason why the packers weren't in the SB last year was because of an int. by brett farve

  7. The Jets? Are you high? The Jets? No no no. The Jets have more problems than just the QB and Favre ain't the solution to the QB problem! He's an old man he's gonna get hit. A Lot. Even with a decent O line he threw way to many INTs! Now he's going to be behind a line with more holes in it than the story I told my wife last night! that's a lot of holes! The Jet's will not win their Division. they will not be a wild card. They will be at the Super Bowl though. Mangini has already bought the tickets.

  8. Man, you are forgetting one huuuuge thing. Favre is showing up at the Jets after missing an entire off season, on top of the fact that he has never worked with any of the Jets players or coaching staff, and they have their first preseason game tomorrow or Friday.

Given those standards, I think the Jets make wild card and are eliminated. You won't see an impact until next year (Assuming Favre is still here)

Let us also not forget the Madden curse, which is this year graced by Brett Favre. I'm not usually superstitious, but who knows, it's never been proven wrong.

  9. i think they could prolly go to the superbowl with brett farve leading them

  10. The have a decent shot at winning their division. they may suffer from injuries and also they dont have that much experience either

  11. NO! Farve is NOT one of the top QBs playing right now, he has a cannon of an arm that hangs his wideouts OUT to dry, not much of a recieving corps, and not much of a run game, i like the jets D but as for the O, not so much.... GO LIONS!!! haha

  12. So with the addition of Favre, you really think they will just go from 4-12 to 13-3? Are you mad? Jets wont be getting to the playoffs this season.

  13. Im giving them 10-6 best case, and battling for a wildcard spot till the end.
