Are the Kangaroos the quiet achievers?

They seem to be flying under the radar at the moment. How will they go in the finals? Will there be any surprises?

  1. Yes, they keep surprising me.

I can't stand them as a team. I don't think they have ever had a player I have had any time for - but they seem to keep coming back from the dead.

  2. I think the Kangaroos are about as good as they are going to get this season. I don't see any more surprises coming from them.

  3. The Kangaroos are doing very well but i'm not sure if they will cut it at finals time!

  4. yeah definately the quiet achievers. they've had some big wins this season. Geelong are in a league of their own though unfortunately

  5. Remember what happened last year? Beat Cats, Sydney, Bulldogs (twice) and Hawthorn in the H&A season for a top 4 finish.

Come finals they lose 2 games by an average of 96.5 points.

Then this year, sure, they beat Hawks, Bulldogs drew with Sydney and took it up to Geelong, but then they lose to Essendon, Fremantle and Saints. They're a good team, but they're too inconsistent to make a real impact in finals.

  6. I think they are the dark horse in this year's finals race. I have always rated them highly, and was surprised when they went down to 10th on the ladder a few rounds ago. I think they will make it quite far in the finals series.

  7. The kangaroos are such a sneaky club always sneaking in wins and going under the radar, no one realises ever how good they are. The kangaroos always come out with surprises - with shock wins & losses, and thats why we all love the kangas coz they are quiet achievers.

  8. h**l yea, i wont be surprised if they end up making it to the GF. they are doing really well atm and are prob guna get to fourth spot at the end of the season. if they can beat the Hawks, doggies and just get beaten by the cats then they can make the GF i think.

  9. Yes YOU can say they are the quiet achievers, I call them the sleeper team.......and I thought Hawthorn would be the sleeper team this year, I was wrong on that one

  10. It seems to happen every year with the Roos, I think they might win 1 finals game but no more. I just hope the Hawks don't have to play them in the finals, because they seem to be our bogey team.

  11. They are quiet achievers for sure. Always up there and always able to beat anyone.

I too hope the hawks don't meet them in the finals because the always seem to have the wood on them.

  12. **I think North Melbourne have flown under the radar a bit over the last few weeks and are a strong possibility to finish in the top four.  If they do happen to finish fourth and play Geelong in the Quarter Final, I'd say that North would give the cats a good run for their money because they match up well against them.**

  13. they will be shot at served up in the local KFC come finals time

  14. i dont like kangaroos...

they wont get very far in the finals they may get to the finals but they will get knocked out first round

  15. They will go well. U should hope they finish 3rd tho otherwise they will have to face the almighty geelong, and they dont have the class and experience to beat them at their best. will prob win home semi through to prelim final. depending on who they play, they might face geelong in the granny.

  16. It would be poetic justice if they get into the finals after the Gold Coast debacle at the beginning of the year and I have soft spot for them so I hope they do well.

I might just have to barrack for them in the finals because my team aren't going to make it.

  17. They are a good team and seem to get the wins against the teams that are meant to beat them.

However, There are times when they loose to the teams they are meant to beat.

Come September not too many teams would like to face them ... but for the roos to be hugely succesful in September they have to beat the teams above them but more importantly the teams below them.

  18. Kangaroos will finish 4th and with any luck they could quite quickly find themselves deep inside the finals race. Too bad they would vs. Geelong first round, but then they would vs. either Sydney or St. Kilda - so maybe a consecutive preliminary final appearance???

  19. i agree

were happy if nobody rates us

    theyll keep paying the price

    so far this year:

    beaten bulldogs twice (they will)

    beaten hawks once

    drawn swans

taken hawks and cats to two goals

    beaten collingwood twice

i see no reason we cant beat the hawks and dogs in the finals. cats may be beyond us though, they are streets ahead of the rest of the comp

  20. I've been watching the kangas all year, being a kangas fan. With the first round loss to essendon aside, we've played really well in victoria. Our bad losses all came from interstate with our only losses in melbourne being against the cats and the hawks. If we dont have to travel in the finals we'll make something happen.

  21. I commented in this forum not so long ago "Watch out for North".  They have some very good players in that team and lots of talls and good marking ability and they just might stir up the finals big time.
