Are the Netherlands loosing out of k.o.-stages (once again)?

I was rooting for Holland (I mean she is one of my favorite teams and I do not like Russia for some offtopic reason, like political or historical ones) but already during the first half I found that the Russian squad is equalling if not even outmatching.the Dutch squad... Guess Holland lost too much energy while still in the group stages. Still some minutes to go but it looks bleak.

As so often, give the Dutch team a hard to win from team (like France and Italy) and they win, give them a team to play against they can not loose from, and they do loose.

It has happened before and it will happen again.

I am sorry for all football fans, but as I do not even watch the game I am not really concerned myself.

Oh, don't be upset. Guus Hiddink is Dutch as well, after all. Besides, the Russian squad has a considerably larger percentage of European players in it, so it's sort of a victory for all of Europe, including Holland. I think the Russians deserved the win. Perhaps their team shall finally recover from the depression that lasted over 15 years, and will once again become a major team like Holland, Italy, Germany, etc.

Well, it's extra time and 11 vs 10 men.... so NL are not out of it ............. (yet!).............. fingers crossed that they pull their socks up and get on with it.

(they always do this though, play great for a few matches, you get your hopes up, and then when it matters they suddenly revert to Sunday league football players!).... Sometimes they get lucky.  So it's a case of wait and see
