  1. Its over. Iam a diehard yankee fan but i think it was really over when wang went down. they had no pitching this year besides mussina and mariano was terrific out of the pen

  2. They've been done for a while.  The final nail in the coffin was hammered in when the Rays kept on winning with Longoria AND Carl Crawford on the DL and the Red Sox kept on winning with out Manny.  Can't do much when the majority of your pitching staff hits the DL.

  3. yes ive said it since they have let Jason Giambi join the team he is another Danny Tartabull, and Don Mattingly they come so close but so far from the gold.with the money they are paying giambi they could buy themselfs a good first baseman and a middle relief starter just like we had mendoza on the dynasty team.

  4. I'm sure to get a bunch of thumbs down for this. The Yankees are totally done. I would bet my soul they do not make playoffs.

  5. if they win tomorrow, they might have a chance....if not, they're screwed

  6. i don't know but i'm getting really pissed at A-Rod and Giambi doing crappy in the clutch and performing when it doesn't matter.

not to mention the pitching staff....

  7. I grew up in the Bronx and have been a loyal Yankee fan. I knew we were done before the season started. But things are fine. It's been an incredible achievement to make the playoffs every year for more than a decade in a sport where only 4 teams from each league get in. We're moving in the right direction though. Rebuilding from within while maintaining a high level of performance. The division was just too good this year, with no bad teams. Baltimore started off very well, everyone knew Boston was great, Toronto is always solid, and the Rays finally came out after I had picked them as the surprise wild card team for the last 2, now 3, seasons. All those No.1 picks had to start performing eventually.

  8. Their season was over months ago.

  9. Nope. It just got a lot harder to make playoffs, but it's not impossible. The Yankees have been known to have miracles and work hard. Until they're mathematically out, it's not done.

  10. At this point in the season the only way the Yankees can make the playoffs is if they man up and start to score runs. They need to go at least .600 in their last remaining games to have a chance. And that is if the Red Sox and Twins start to slow down. However the Yankkes are only .526 against teams over .500 and the rest of their season is against opponents who are over .500 including the the Rays 2 times, the Angels once, and they finish up in Boston. it is not going ot be an easy thing to accomplish.

  11. It ain't over til it's over.

  12. ...just about over.

  13. They may be done but still had having better year than let's say the Reds, Tigers,Indians, Orioles, Braves.  They had a nice long run making the play offs but I guess all things come to an end at some point but should be okay next season.

  14. time well tell
