  1. Only Rugby Reporters write them off so bad!

All International Teams always take their games against the Pumas seriosly...After all they are the Best Scrummaging Team in the World!

  2. Yes. They are not quite up to the tri nations level but very close and have taken huge inroads these last few years. Many would love to see them in an extended tri nations competition

  3. yes,but I dont think they are in the same league as the tri nations competitors, i think its just the adrenaline of the world cup thats pushing them to a high standard, its whether they can keep up with their form for a couple more years..

  4. they are pretty damm close.

  5. They are from Argentina where rugby is a secondary sport and is mainly played at an amateur level. Originally was played at English and Scottish private schools located in the northern Buenos Aires but all over the country now through amateur clubs.

Many of the players, when they get to a Puma level they are offered contracts overseas and become professionals. Years ago that would mean that they could no longer play for the Pumas as the amateur policy was strictly enforced.

This policy has changed and that is one of the reasons why they have improved so much.

I would love to see them play in the six nations, much more than the three nations which is impractical as the best players play in Europe and would not be able to participate.

Argentina has a bad record with the power countries in the SE but pretty good with the ones from the NE.

  6. no they are from Mexico
