After scoring 22 runs in the last 2 games, do you think the Phillies may be finally breaking out of their way too long slump or just had a few good games?

  1. i'm a braves fan and as soon as i saw this question i got pissed off lol

  2. I picked the Phillies to win the division before he season started and I'm sticking to it.  I could care less about the Mets.  They don't have heart.  The Phillies will win and play in the world series.

  3. God i hope so...This is too good of a team to slump like they have been...We do need to pick up a relief pitcher though before the deadline.

  4. Absolutely. The Phils aren't, obviously, going to score 9, 10, 11 runs a game, but this is definitely the push they needed. With the confidence boosting win against the Mets tuesday, only to be demoralized by 3 straight losses, I knew this was their opportunity to get back on the right track. The team, this year, has absolutely demolished the Braves [now 10-2] and now that their confidence is back up, I think it will stay there. Now they're playing the joke-of-a-team nationals, who I'm praying they'll sweep. They just need one set of easy games and steady pitching, and I think it will really carry them out of the slump.

And for those of you who say Hamels is our only pitcher that's good for anything, your absolutely wrong. Moyer has the same record, with only a slightly higher ERA. And Kendrick, though his numbers aren't impressive, have kept the Phillies in the game more than any starting pitcher we have, the Phils earning a 14-6 record when he's on the mound. 3 out of 5 is not that bad. Moyer and Blanton are still settling into their roles, one after a trade, the other after being in triple a. Give them a break. And on top of that, we have one of the most lights-out bullpens in baseball. Our pitching is REALLY not that bad. Stop always focusing blame on them. The offense has been dead lately. If they were playing the way they should, we would never have lost some of those low score games.

Edit : Oops, I thought there were complaints against our pitching...haha I guess i remember that from another question..ha. But still, thats where I stand with it.

  5. The Phillies never really had a slump. they had a few off games. It  is crazy the way that team can just keep coming back and exploding games open in the late innings. They have found a way to win, and it has been working for the most of the time.

  6. Yes. The Phillies are a very Powerful team, definitely the Top 3 or 4 in the Majors in Power. Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Pat Burrell, Jimmy Rollins, need I say more??

  7. yeah, but now you also have to concern you pitching giving up 19 in the last 2, your team isnt guna score 10 runs a night
