Are the Purges from the Russian Revolution represented by anything in Animal Farm?

if so, which part in Animal Farm represents the Purges?

also, what do the executions of the animals in chapter 7 represent? the Purges, or the show trials?

  3. the purges are represented by the deaths of umm it was a long time since i read the book but im pretty sure its like the chickens and stuff cos when they kill the pigs that doesnt really count cos the purges werent generally on intelligent ppl that was more politically related.

  4. I think that the purges are represented by some of the pigs being forced to confess and then being surrounded by the vicious dogs and devoured by them. They were representative of the "old line Bolsheviks" that Stalin got rid of during the 30s. This was how Napoleon (Stalin) consolidated his power. The book follows pretty acurately the Russian Revolution, Stalin and the early years of the Soviet Union. I hope that this has been a help to you.
